Today ... a friend lost and so much gained

Well, let's start with the good news.  I scammed the movie theater today with Andy Schofield!  Actually, it was legitimate but it felt like we were getting one over on them.  You see, if you're a member of SAG and can produce your SAG card at the Valley View Cinemark, you can get a free movie ticket!  Bam!  Just like that.  This means that not only did I see a Meryl movie in an actual theater during this year long love project but I also saw it gratis!  Woooooooo hooooo! Makes me wanna celebrate with a cupcake ;-)

The movie, by the way, was incredible, just what I would expect from Nancy Meyers and Meryl and Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin for that matter.  It's probably one I will own when it goes on sale.  I LOVED IT.  Choosing an amazing scene will be a real task since there are so many I dig.  Well, it's a whole year away so I'll chill on that thought for a bit.

In other news, Andy loaned me the book of all books called, "Accents a Manual for Actors" by Robert Blumenfeld.  It rocks.  I can already tell.  Pretty soon I'll be typing with the most perfect accent. Oh wait, perhaps it will be better on camera. Speaking of on camera ... my first video of me just blabbing incessantly is on youtube right now.  A special thanks goes out to Spencer Jay Kim (who squeezed in shooting it right before he scampered out of town) and Allen Kellogg.  They edited it for me and spent some time doing it that was beyond generous.  Thanks, guys.  So, you may go watch it now or a cleaner version might be up tomorrow.  Sorry if it's long ... I do go on, as I'm sure you've noticed.

Finally, I do want to make mention about an old friend of mine, Mack Starkey, who passed away just yesterday.  I worked with him doing murder mysteries and at Sea World of Ohio ... what a great guy. Lots of energy, always a smile and as I can read from his facebook page, he was loved by many.  He will be missed.
