OK, so as you know, tomorrow is the big day for the shoot. As I've mentioned, I need to create my look for this character. As I've also said, she is a real person. So, I went and got one of her books and did a google image search and basically stalked her just enough to feel like I got to know her a bit. Bottom line, Meryl did not change her appearance drastically for this role but I thought since it's the first one out of the gate, I should do just that ... transform.
Today, therefore, I went to try on my blue contacts because Susan has very light features to go with her red hair. I went to my friend Tracy's house. You can tell she's a Mom because she had the utmost patience with me while I basically blinked my way out of getting the contacts in my eye for about an hour. Have any of you seen the movie, Baby Mama? Remember the scene where Tina Fey's character tries to give a prenatal vitamin to Amy Poeler? Well, today was the equivalent to that scene with me and the contacts. I laughed so hard! Thank you Tracy. You're an angel for putting up with me.
So, I have a clear idea now of what I'll wear, how my makeup and hair will look and what color my eyes will be! OMG, this is actually coming together!
Now I'm going to go take out these contacts because I think I've given myself enough time in them and odds are I will not completely adjust to them overnight. I'm grateful to have 20/20 vision. I can't quite imagine fondling my own eyeball on a day to day basis!

It's not really "fondling" one's eyebrow, silly! Only YOU would say it like that!!!
May the force be with you, but not when you put your contacts in.
Oy. That was difficult...
But you did it!
