Todays interview, pr attempts and reach outs to Meryl fans
First let me say that I will post the thanks and detailed credits for the D scene tomorrow. I want that to be a separate post so I can properly gush over all involved.
Today was quite a day. I emailed 2 voice over auditions to my agent before I had an interview at Baldwin Wallace college, with a journalism student. Her questions were excellent. She actually taped the interview so she wasn't relying solely on her notes that would have been far too many to take. She was very sweet and had prepared about 12 questions, all good ones. I was happy to answer them all although I must admit that she stumped me here and there with ones like, "Do you have any weaknesses that make this project difficult for you?" I looked at her after thinking for a moment and said, "um, NO", truth be told I think that I have all of the qualities I need to do this project. Maybe I'm wrong but if there's one I'm missing I can't think of it. Now you're probably thinking, humility, there's a quality you could use! It's not that I'm over confident. I just think that this project takes guts, stamina, heart, perseverance ... and I have those things. To be fair, I tailored this project to my own personality so that makes sense, don't ya think?
I also made contact with the head of the PR dept at BW inquiring if he knew of a student who would make a good intern for my project. He asked me to create an email with a detailed job description and promised to pass it on to all of his students. I hope to get some good feedback from that soon. My interviewer today also said she felt compelled to pass my info on to the campus radio station and another paper. She said, "I feel like I'm involved now." Bless her heart! It really can be contagious.
Only moments ago I went on youtube to accept a friend request from a Meryl fan that I do not know! You know how that thrills me! Anyway, I looked at her friend's list and saw that she had a bunch of other Meryl fans on her roster so I wrote them private messages inviting them to watch my project and videos. How do I know they're Meryl fans? It's oh so obvious! They all have youtube names with Meryl in it or pictures of her as their own youtube identity picture. Oh my, I could be inviting a world of criticism but oh well, how else will I grow, right? So, I'll let you know if that increases my views or if I can see anything come out of that move.
On an unrelated note, my sister Jenny called me to do an on camera presentation for Bobby Flay for a contest that he's apparently having right now. Unfortunately, she needed me to create the script, explain the concept in an entertaining way and have it emailed to him by TOMORROW so I couldn't manage it. Truly if I had a laptop to plug my flip camera in, thus charging it and giving me the ability to email a video, I would have sqeezed it in somewhere. Sorry, Jenny. It was a good idea but I needed more time for execution.
I often feel like I should sign off with a Love, Nancy or nite nite but instead I'll just say, 'til tomorrow.
