Carrie Fisher wrote this semi autobiographical screenplay about her relationship with her Mother, Debbie Reynolds. In this scene, Doris Mann was in a car accident just following an argument with her daughter. Suzanne goes to see her Mom in the hospital and together they help pick up the pieces of their mutual addictions and relationship.
