One of the ladies I was with was Jeannie Zarzour. Jeannie has spearheaded a pay for play campaign that is truly inspiring. The point of it is that actors are professionals like a dentist or an accountant and you wouldn't ask for a free tooth filling or tax statement. So, Jeannie has been instrumental in reminding the community that just because we love our work, doesn't mean we don't deserve compensation. With that thought in mind, I hadn't considered her for my project because as you know, nearly everyone donates their services and I didn't want to insult her. Then, a while back, Jeannie mentioned she would love to do it! I was shocked and thrilled at the same time. So I started thinking about roles she could play. As for most women in film, Meryl Streep's costars were primarily men but every now and then she worked with other women who really had moments where they could shine. Jeannie is talented enough to play any type of role but she is hilarious and I did think of one character for her. I talked to her last night and even though it would require some aging, perhaps a grey wig of which Jeannie has many, and some frumpy clothing, Jeannie was on board! She'll be playing with me, Vic Gideon, and two adolescents in a scene from She Devil. She is playing my crazy mother. It will be hysterical. Can't wait for that!

Speaking of mountains, The Jimmy asked if I'd like to hike Mount LeConte with him. I would love to and it's about a thousand miles vertical or something like that. Just what I need for my body right while I'm doing all of this for my spirit. I'll let you know how that goes. I'm sure there will be lots to say!

I'm so excited to work with you on this, Nancy!(even if it will mean playing your mother in a gray wig and wrinkles. Who am I kidding? I love doing that sh_t!) It's an ingenious idea that you, and everyone involved, execute beautifully. Brava!! xo Jeannie
