What a weekend! Friday night Cassie and I went shopping with the rap trio, Tripod City. Sunday, bright and early, I was at their music video shoot. My role? Set Mom/wife. Basically, if anyone in the group (TPC), needed makeup, wardrobe help or moral support ... it was me! If Dev or Kai needed food or assistance, it was me! I haven't been on a lot of music video sets. It's very different from other shoots. More of a free for all, you might say. The Tripod guys were psyched to be making their video and they brought all of the energy they had in them to make it the best they could. They came complete with groupies, girlfriends, and all the accoutrements to make it an awesome shoot.
Today I have to get my plates. My bday is at the end of the month and I always think I have some time but nope, new law. Let it go longer than 7 days and there's a penalty. I'll see if I can work around that. Found out too late and I seriously forgot about them!
Then it's off to Case Western Reserve University. I used to work there all the time for both the law school and the MBA program. Yep, they hire actors for all sorts of simulations and presentations. It was fun. Today, however, no acting involved. This cameo is all me just explaining life as an actor in Cleveland. Cathy Albers, from the E scene, is the head of the acting department at Case and has groomed so many students to acting success it's mind boggling. So she has this class that she wants me to talk to about acting. I'm meant to cover commercials, industrials, film, live work etc. Basically, give them the overview of what's out there, how to get the work and survive. I should have something to say. I have it planned in my head but I often vere off course once I get there. Winging it is more my style. I know all of the answers so why not pose the questions to them?! Anyway, as much as I don't love teaching a class, I do adore teaching workshops. One day, in and out ... yep, that's me!!!
Hey! Did you see my article in the Willoughby Herald?! It was great. I just love getting press. More please. Oh and Postcards is over 400 views... gotta keep that growing too. It's all wonderful!
