Shoots, Edits, Sleep

Do you remember the whole Lions for Lambs fiasco of me trying to watch the film over and over again?  Just to refresh your memory, I had the most difficult time getting myself to sit through that political film because it just wasn't my cup of tea.  I literally started to watch it more than 4 times.  Eventually I did watch it and actually liked it although I would make some edits to keep it more engaging.  Was that pompous of me or what?  I spend 6 months editing bi weekly and now I think I'm ____________ fill in the blank.  I don't even know any editors names who are famous!  Anyway, yesterday we shot Lions for Lambs.  Greg Violand was my actor and honestly he was amazing!  I loved the shoot!  I was giddy with excitement between takes.  First of all the script was two full pages of intense dialogue.  It was filled with non sequitors and had so many levels but we nailed them all!  I'm not being conceited here.  I just think that when you have someone like Greg working opposite you, it can really bring out a great performance.  I was so completely excited about doing this scene the day before we even shot it, when Greg and I rehearsed.  Now that Devon edited it ... OH MY!  I am in love with it.  I'm so excited that I love the J scene and now I love the L scene.  The pressure is on our reshoot of the K scene has to rock.  It must be awesome too.  Wow, I'm just in awe of how well this whole JKL has gone, exhausting as it may be.

The edit of the L scene was also a thrilling experience.  Dev put together the first two cuts and I was saying I LOVE IT!  That never happens.  I'm usually quiet for a while and according to him making small gasping noises, exhales and hmphs as he begins.  Well, last night it just cut together so beautifully.  I loved Gregs performance, my performance and Dev's fine shooting and editing.  I loved the way it was shot.  Can you feel the love?  I went to bed so pleased with the days work.

Sleep.  Did someone say sleep?  Well, if not, I am saying it now!  Tonight at midnight we begin the 48 hours.  That means that after getting to bed at 2 am from last nights edit and getting up way too early today, I must snooze until I can't snooze no more all during today.  That's why I'm writing now.  I just don't know how easy it will be for me to post for the next couple of days.  OK, night night everyone and YIPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEE!
